Central Alabama Mountain Pedalers (“CAMP-SORBA”) is soliciting proposals for the construction of multi-use trails in Chewacla State Park. The trails will be constructed to the requirements of this RFP and all attachments and exhibits included or referenced.
CAMP-SORBA is a Non-profit 501(c)3 organization and is a chartered International Mountain Biking Association (“IMBA”) Chapter located in Alabama. Its service area covers most of Central Alabama with our primary focus currently on the Auburn-Opelika area. CAMP-SORBA has received a Recreational Trails Program (“RTP”) grant from the State of Alabama to continue our efforts in building exceptional trail in Chewacla State Park. CAMP-SORBA has also reached an agreement with the City of Auburn to assist with the financial administration of the work by providing interim funding during the work.
CAMP-SORBA has an ongoing relationship with Chewacla Sate Park and have constructed trail and amenities for mountain biking in the park under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Park. Currently we have a trail system that includes roughly 16 miles of hand-cut, moderately technical tread in Chewacla State Park. The work in this RFP will expand our trail offerings by providing a more modern trail design that incorporates machine cut, open and flowing features.
We have issued an addenda to the above RFP on July 14th 2014. Click on the link below to download the addenda.
