Central Alabama Mountain Pedalers (CAMP) was founded in 2012 by a group of mountain bikers in the Auburn area who recognized the need for more trails and greater awareness of the sport in Central Alabama. From the beginning, we focused on expanding the trail system at Chewacla State Park.
Today, CAMP volunteers actively care for over 67 miles of trail across Central Alabama:
- 25+ miles at Chewacla State Park
- 30+ miles in Tuskegee National Forest
- 12 miles at Swayback Bridge
Members, donors, and volunteers make every mile of trail possible.
If you enjoy riding these trails, becoming a CAMP member is one of the best ways to support the people who build and maintain them.
For more information, visit our FAQ page for answers to common questions about trail conditions, etiquette, volunteering, and getting started.

Weekly Group Rides
CAMP members host weekly group rides at Chewacla State Park.

Rides typically start from the second parking lot and explore a variety of trails throughout the park. Because times and locations may change due to weather or trail conditions, be sure to check our Events page for the latest updates.
How to Get Involved
1. Become a member
Memberships start at just $39 per year. In addition to supporting CAMP, members receive discounts and deals from local and national brands through ExpertVoice.
Your membership dues and donations directly support the tools, time, and effort required to build and maintain the trails you love.
2. Stay connected
Stay up to date on CAMP activities by following us on social media.
We share regular updates on rides, trail conditions, and volunteer opportunities.
3. Build the trails
We’re always working to improve and maintain trails across Central Alabama, and we welcome your help.
Check our Events page for upcoming workdays (typically Saturdays and Sundays), then come out and help build new features or maintain existing trails. Our volunteers make everything we do possible, and we couldn’t do it without them.
Kids and furry friends are welcome!
