New Rider Info

Central Alabama Mountain Pedalers (CAMP) was founded in 2012 by a group of mountain bikers in the Auburn area who recognized the need for more trails and an increased awareness for the sport in Central Alabama. In September 2012, CAMP, already a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 45-4893385), became an official SORBA (Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association) chapter.

Today, our volunteers care for 25+ miles at Chewacla State Park, 30+ miles in the Tuskegee National Forest, and 12 miles at Swayback Bridge working in partnership with land managers to expand access and protect these public trails for future generations.

Every mile of trail is built and maintained through memberships, donations, and volunteer support.

What We Do

At CAMP, we are passionate about improving our communities in Central Alabama through outdoor activities, namely mountain biking.  We do this through partnerships with the Auburn-Opelika Tourism BureauChewacla State Park, Tuskegee National Forest and local businesses. We host competitions, group rides, and instructional classes that raise awareness of mountain biking and bring visitors to our trails. Our goal is to establish Central Alabama as a premier mountain biking destination.

Our members lead the weekly group rides on Tuesdays and weekends in Chewacla State Park. Keep an eye out for Tuskegee group rides! See our Events page for more details.
